Content Locality Caching, pioneered by Prof. Qing Yang, Co-Founder and CTO of VeloBit, is a significant breakthrough in enterprise storage technology. Content Locality adds a new dimension in locality of reference caching and has the potential to accelerate application speed and storage I/O by 10x or more. Content Locality caching exploits the similarity of data blocks generated by computer applications and caches content based on “popularity” (frequency of use and number of references). When combined with line-speed delta compression, content locality caching optimizes data for solid state disk (SSD) and overcomes the main limitations of SSD – write performance speed and durability.
